बाल मनावर परिणाम

Since we were kids, how many times have we used this line as a witty reply or as a joke; ए अस नको बोलुस, त्याचा/तिच्या बाल मनावर परिणाम होईल.”

We have generally used this sentence in order to address someone who is naïve, innocent or emotionally weak. Now, you would be wondering, why would someone write a blog on a sentence which is nothing but a clever comment used to evoke laughter? If that question entered your mind, then I would like to give you a different perspective to the same sentence.

Since the day we start our lives on this earth, our brain starts absorbing every little detail; sometimes consciously and sometimes sub-consciously.  As it enters the specific channels into the brain according to its context, it starts processing it further into opinions. Then as this information is processing, it is indirectly sent to our soul which is responsible for shaping our personality. But the problem here is, all of this goes on inside a dark room which is never visible to the human eye. The only thing that is visible is the outcome; a human’s behaviour, personality and actions.

All of this is accepted by the society only if it fits into their idea of right and wrong. But, if any one of these outcomes is slightly out of the box, rebellious or just ‘different’, they are frowned upon and cornered for being wrong. But we fail to realize that all these actions are a result of the domino effect from the actions and experiences from our past.

Having said that, according to me, every human experience two lives in their lifetime. The first life starts when we are born and can end at adulthood. Sometimes, it never ends, till the end. The second life starts after adulthood. In our first life, we see only what is shown to us, behave only how we are instructed to, and do only what we are told to do, believing that whatever they say is the ultimate truth. Here, we start creating a world of our own in our minds based on the influence of opinions of other people.

But then comes the second life. This life is a product of the actions carried out and the impact imprinted on our minds in the first life. Only, here, we don’t let others tell us what to feel and what to do. Here, the world initially introduced to us remains the same but our perspective not only changes, but also widens. We are introduced to the same things differently and that takes some time to balance. This period is called puberty. That is why puberty is considered one of the hardest and also revolutionary because those filtered opinions are transitioning into independent opinions. This transition can make or break a human being to levels that we cannot even predict.

That is why, creating valuable experiences for a human in his first life is so essential, not just for his/her sake, but for everyone around. Although, sometimes, some experiences and are so impactful and sometimes scarring, that they get carried forward into our second life. Every time we try to do something out of the box, that scar pulls us back into that comfort zone of pain and messes with our system and everything after that.

Which takes me to my next point, and that is, company. The people involved in our first life play a very crucial role in shaping our second life a.k.a. our future. Here, some people act like helmets, protecting us from danger. Some people acts as sign boards, guiding us to the right path whenever we are lost. But, some people act like thorns; poking us, hurting us and sometimes leaving a scar for us to live with and carry forward to our second life.

Then, the biggest question arises. Can all of this be avoided? Has anyone ever escaped those thorns? No, no one has and no one should. No matter what we do, there are going to be thorns in all walks of life.Even if the thorns cannot be avoided, the scars and the pain caused by it can surely be mended. Here, all the helmets and sign boards, bandages and medicines of our life should recognize these scars and help that naïve brain grow until it is able to mend the new scars on its own.

That is why it is crucial to consciously take care of that brain in its first life.  Carefully shape each and every of its edges so that it becomes a sculpture strong enough to stand on its own feet and not merely a brittle showpiece.
So next time someone jokes about that sentence, tell them just one thing; “ बाल मनावर परिणाम होवु देऊ नका, बाल मन जपा.”
