The Power of Empathy

People say, "It's all in your head."
They say, "These are just your delusions."
They always give you all kinds of advice, except for a valid solution.
Nobody wants to feel sad, negative and broken,
But, you never know how many emotions are hiding behind that smile, left unspoken.

The thoughts start swirling in the head and the body starts becoming weak,
And this is the time when your vulnerability is at its peak!
You don't feel like getting out of bed, and you don't want to function,
It's like you are stuck and frozen at a very big junction.
Depression is overflowing with a silver lining of anxiety,
Yet, you remain silent, for the sake of being accepted by society.

You try to reach out to them, you try to tell them that you need help,
Your face; happy, your eyes; sad, with your mind letting out a yelp!
You try to release the tangle of thoughts but they intertwine more with each try,
It's like happiness is a mirage in your minds desert, lifeless and dry.

You crave for that one drop of water, that one ray of hope,
That would assure you that for betterment, even you have a scope.
That ray of hope can be sought through love, care and affection.

That ray of hope, which instead of giving you advice, will walk you towards a solution.
A simple sense of empathy may even save someone's aching soul from getting lost,
If can detangle each and every thought in your mind, without paying any cost.
Let your hand reach out for those in need,
You will help them save their soul and you'll also get the satisfaction of doing a good dead!
